Job Description:

The Utilities Maintenance Technician for Mikart, Inc. is responsible for assuring the safe, reliable operation of utility equipment. The Utilities Maintenance technician reports directly to the Controls Engineer Supervisor.

Duties:

Oversee daily operations and performance of the plant utilities.

  1. Maintain inventory of necessary replacement parts (filters, etc.) to avoid downtime.
  2. Replace filters for all buildings HVAC units and related equipment on a routine basis. Also record current date on each filter during replacement.
  3. Install new equipment, and participate in equipment repair and set-up as required. Work with supervisors in each department to assure that utility equipment is operating properly. Inspect equipment to assure that both manufacturer and Mikart specifications are met.
  4. Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on equipment and plant utilities as appropriate. Complete maintenance logs on all serviced equipment in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain equipment manuals in an orderly manner.
  5. Assure that all necessary machine guards are in place and functioning properly. Lock out machinery as required preventing use.
  6. Coordinate preventive maintenance schedule for utility equipment at each Mikart facility.
  7. Oversee pest control activities and inspections for all buildings and make sure contractor reports are current and correct.

Perform preventive maintenance work orders for utility equipment. Make sure that all     equipment maintenance is performed on time as required and filed away in maintenance log   books.

  1. Provide utility maintenance support to all departments at each Mikart facility. Recommend improvements, which enhance equipment efficiency and safety.

  3. Make sure all work is performed according to GMP, safety and company policy.

Assist Controls Engineer Supervisor and Engineering Department personnel as needed.

 

Job Requirements:

Two years utility maintenance experience or other appropriate combination of education and experience working in a maintenance utility plant environment or similar.  Demonstrates leadership ability, proper communication, and good organizational skills with some mechanical ability.
